| Job Description: |
We are seeking Freelance content/copy writers involved in the creation and/or development of creative writing for Websites, producing marketing collaterals and press releases for Software Services" industry. Some of the envisaged engagements are:
- Helping develop unique content for our websites, online/offline collaterals, e-newsletters, periodic press releases, sales/marketing collaterals, presentations, case studies, engagement summaries etc.
- Editing, proof reading and revising existing content
- Coordination with our technical teams and clientele to define and deliver necessary content
- To undertake research, including competitive services, changing technologies, software services market trends and evolving business needs
- Verifying the factual content of written work
- Conducting interviews with people either face to face, over the telephone or by email
- Submission of material for publication in the required and expected format
- Rewriting and adapting material (and sometimes the work of others) for alternative formats
- Encouraging and acting upon critical feedback in the most appropriate manner
- Rewriting and revising work (often several times) following feedback
- To Write web content for websites / portals from scratch
- Write, edit and proof read content supplied by others
- Proof read, edit and write content on a regular basis for building up the website including informative short articles
- Check web pages finally before making them live
- Write search engine optimized press releases. This may include:
- Communicating with clients via phone and e-mail
- Conducting in-depth research during client interviews and via the Internet
- Gleaning a relevant news angle for each press release
- Writing strong, newsy headlines and sub-headlines
- Writing press release body in inverted pyramid style- Inserting keywords and hyperlinks in appropriate places in content
- Writing interesting, engaging e-newsletters for Websites and e-campaigns
- To convey proper writing tone and style according to clients' needs
- To write appropriate content based on clients' industry |
| Required Skills: |
The ideal candidate shall have
A Masters Degree with preferred majors in English, Journalism, Marketing, Advertising or Communications
More than 2 years of English content writing experience as a sole contributor
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
A flair for writing with an understanding of what works on the internet
An effective writing style that is fresh, consistent and customer friendly
A knack for editing and proof reading with good research skill
Ability to write in a variety of formats and styles for multiple audiences.
Ability for extreme attention to detail with excellent editing, spelling and grammar
Open communication style
knowledge of website marketing and search engine marketing (preferred)
Familiarity with search engine optimization writing techniques (preferred)
Experience with Web marketing (preferred)
Experience with a publishing house can be an added advantage
be willing to work to tight deadlines
